When I went to Windows Update and did a manual check for updates, then it automatically downloaded and installed the newer drivers again. I don't want to disable all updates via Windows Update, I just wanted to be able to selectively install them. This reinstalls both of the devices that I uninstalled in step 2.Īnd I will take future updates to these drivers only if they come directly from Lenovo via Vantage or the support site. Install the Lenovo Power Management Driver version 1.67.17.51 that is available on the Lenovo support site. In Device Manager, uninstall the system devices "Lenovo Power Manager", "Lenovo PM Device" (and check the option to uninstall the drivers). I did that in the past, but got tired of being notified about definition updates.ĭisable automatic updates via group policy I guess I need to block automatic windows updates again.

I don't know why these updates are suddenly appearing in Windows Update instead of Lenovo Vantage, but I don't like it. The latest version of the power management driver there is 1.67.17.51, dated April 20. Oddly, these drivers don't seem to be available on the Lenovo support site. In device manager this appears to be "Lenovo PM Device". Then today I got another one via Windows Update: "Lenovo - System - 1.67.17.52". In device manager it appears as "Lenovo Power Manager".
